What’s happening at Cumbernauld Trinity?
Next Sunday’s Worship
We will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday 6th September at both our 11.00am and 2.30pm services, and at both there will be a Retiring Offering for the work of the Craighalbert Centre.
The 11.00am service will take place in the Village church, Baronhill, and the 2.30pm service will be held in Freedom City Church, St Mungo’s Road,
Our morning service will be preceded by a short time of prayer from 10.30am until 10.45am in the Laird's Loft.
Vestry Time
Every Wednesday from 10.00am until 12 noon the Rev James Gemmell will be available in the Session House at the Village church for anyone who would like to speak to the minister.
Care for a Cuppa
Everyone is welcome at Care for a Cuppa every Thursday from 10.30 - 12.30 in the Session House at Cumbernauld Trinity in the Village.
For those in need, food bags will still be available as before, but we hope some visitors will feel able to simply join us for a cuppa and a chat.
Pastoral Care
Our Pastoral Care group is now up and running, so if anyone wants a visit or hasn’t seen a member of our congregation in a while, please speak to the Pastoral Care group for follow-up. The group members are Janice Gordon, Jennifer Mearns, Nan McCabe, Annette Campbell, Christine Johnstone, Liz Dalling, Sandra Graham, and James Gemmell. The pastoral care group will work alongside the Elders districts, which will be phased out over time.
Coffee Morning
Cumbernauld Trinity will be holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday 12th September in Freedom City church, St Mungo’s Road, from 10.00am until 12 noon. Tickets are available now for £4, or you can simply pay on the door. Everyone is welcome, so please come along and bring family and friends — we’d love to see you!
Home baking donations would be very much appreciated and can be dropped off at the Coffee House at Freedom City from 9.00am on Saturday 12th September.
Housekeeping
Following the recent fire risk assessment undertaken in the church, session house and outbuildings, housekeeping was recorded as an issue and required removal of non used items.
The outbuildings also have to be cleared. It is planned to hire a skip on the day, but we need as many people as possible to help. If anyone has access to a van or cars and is able to remove items this would be much appreciated.
Pantomime visit
The Reaching Out Group is taking names for anyone who would be interested in a trip to see the pantomime at the Lanternhouse Theatre in December. The proposed date of the show is Saturday 5th December at 2pm. Tickets are priced £25 (£21 for concessions) and if we make a block booking then the theatre will offer us a 10% discount on these prices.
We need names by Sunday 13th September and there is a sheet available at both the Village and Café Church for that. All payments will be required by Sunday 11th October.
Men’s Group
The first Men’s Group outing of the new session will be on Tuesday 22nd September with a visit to Torness Power Station. Meet at 8.45am at the car park near the Village church for a 9.00am departure.
Mission and Discipleship
We have arranged a meeting with Isaac Hongsuk, the Mission Co-ordinator for Glasgow Presbytery, on Wednesday 30th September at 7pm in the Village church. This is open to everyone and will be an opportunity for us to think about mission and discipleship and how Cumbernauld Trinity can best do it.
