Our New Build Project
The journey begins…
Our New Build Project
latest update 11th June 2026
The fire that devastated our St Mungo’s building on 2nd August 2025 had an impact that was felt literally around the world, with offers of condolence and support coming in from many countries and people. We are extremely grateful for your solidarity and expressions of care.
The buildings were insured, and the Church of Scotland has determined that a new church for Cumbernauld Trinity be built on the site. That process is now underway.
Over recent months, steady progress has been made behind the scenes. By the time of writing, we hope to have appointed a project manager who will act as our main point of contact and help guide us through the various processes and procedures. As is often the case with projects like this, there are a number of detailed steps involved, and we are working carefully through each stage.
For the congregation, there are a few simple ways to be involved just now:
Please continue to pray for clarity, unity, and provision.
If you have particular skills or experience (e.g. construction, finance, project management), we may draw on these as needs arise.
Keep an eye out for future updates, where there will be more specific opportunities to contribute.
Over the coming weeks, we plan to install signage on the site and add a dedicated section to the church website (this is it!)
Our hope is to bring the wider community along with us, helping people feel informed, engaged, and excited about what lies ahead. We will share clearer timelines and next steps as soon as these are confirmed. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we move carefully towards this next stage.
