Our Fair Trade Connection

Cumbernauld Trinity continues to promote Fair Trade at our mini-stall after morning worship in the Village on the last Sunday of each month. This is proving to be popular with many members of our congregation who have developed the taste for certain favourite Fairtrade goodies such as drinking chocolate, curry sauce, tea, and chocolate bars.
A selection of Fairtrade goods is also available for sale on the last Sunday of the month at the 2.30pm Cafe Church service held at St Mungo's Hub.

As a Fairtrade church we offer Fairtrade teas and coffees after our services (along with Fairtrade home-baking!) and at church events held in our premises. The kind donations we receive for these refreshments allow us to replenish our stock of teas and coffees and we would also like to thank everyone who makes donations when buying their Fairtrade purchases. Every year these kind acts of generosity allow us to not only purchase Fairtrade tea and coffee, but we are also able to make our own donation to a charitable cause.

At Christmas 2024 the Fairtrade group decided to donate £200 to Compassion, a charity that makes a difference to children living in some of the world’s poorest communities, and at Easter 2025 we were able to make a donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Myanmar Earthquake Appeal.

If you would like to find out what Fairtrade is and how it works, check out the Fairtrade Foundation website for more information.
