St Mungo’s Hub

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out to support us and stood with us in the wake of the devastating fire that destroyed our church.

We have received hundred of messages from the local churches and community, groups who used the halls, as well as many across Scotland and also the Scottish Civic Trust. These will be compiled into a memory book in time.

The church was special to the congregation, many of whom spent the majority of their lives there, but we are touched by how important the building was to the town and as an iconic landmark. It has also impacted the many community groups who have used the building and have lost equipment; it was the home of the Cumbernauld Choir for 40 years.

We also have received a great deal of support from Presbytery of Glasgow and the Church of Scotland and that has been invaluable in taking some of the burden from us.

While we have lost a building, we have not lost our unity, faith, or our purpose. We are deeply grateful to everyone, and hopefully in time, we will have a new church building.
