What’s happening at Cumbernauld Trinity?
Next Sunday’s Worship
Our morning worship service on Sunday 20th September will take place at 11.00am in the Village church, Baronhill, and our Cafe Church service will be at 2.30pm in Freedom City Church, St Mungo’s Road. Both services will be led by Rev James Gemmell.
Our morning service will be preceded by a short time of prayer from 10.30am until 10.45am in the Laird's Loft, upstairs at the Village church.
There will be an opportunity to support the work of Macmillan at both our services this Sunday with a sale of jams and marmalade, and home baking.
Vestry Time
Every Wednesday from 10.00am until 12 noon the Rev James Gemmell will be available in the Session House at the Village church for anyone who would like to speak to the minister.
Care for a Cuppa
Everyone is welcome at Care for a Cuppa every Thursday from 10.30 - 12.30 in the Session House at Cumbernauld Trinity in the Village.
For those in need, food bags will still be available as before, but we hope some visitors will feel able to simply join us for a cuppa and a chat.
Pastoral Care
Our Pastoral Care group is now up and running, so if anyone wants a visit or hasn’t seen a member of our congregation in a while, please speak to the Pastoral Care group for follow-up. The group members are Janice Gordon, Jennifer Mearns, Nan McCabe, Annette Campbell, Christine Johnstone, Liz Dalling, Sandra Graham, and James Gemmell. The pastoral care group will work alongside the Elders districts, which will be phased out over time.
Mission Circle
Thank you to everyone who ‘popped in a pound’ to the Big Red Bucket on Sunday 6th September. We have been able to send £90 to our mission partner Sandra in South Africa to help buy groceries and other essentials for families in need.
Housekeeping
Following the recent fire risk assessment undertaken in the church, session house and outbuildings, housekeeping was recorded as an issue and required removal of non used items. To this end, we’re planning a ‘clear out’ day on Saturday 19th September at 10.00am at the Village church.
The outbuildings also have to be cleared. It is planned to hire a skip on the day, but we need as many people as possible to help. If anyone has access to a van or cars and is able to remove items this would be much appreciated.
Men’s Group
The first Men’s Group outing of the new session will be on Tuesday 22nd September with a visit to Torness Power Station. Meet at 8.45am at the car park near the Village church for a 9.00am departure.
Mission and Discipleship
We have arranged a meeting with Dr Isaac Hongsuk Um, the Mission Co-ordinator for Glasgow Presbytery, on Wednesday 30th September at 7pm in the Village church. This is open to everyone and will be an opportunity for us to think about mission and discipleship and how Cumbernauld Trinity can best do it.
